Vivacity Introduces a Sophisticated Workforce Wellness Solution to Small and Medium-Sized Businesses

SEATTLE, WA. – Vivacity, a leading-edge workforce wellness company, today introduced an innovative suite of workforce wellness and consulting services that makes available affordable, effective, turnkey wellness solutions to small and medium sized business nationwide.

“Fortune 500 companies have shown that strategically designed wellness programs can save money, build a healthier workforce and ultimately a happier employee,” said Jim Messina, Vivacity CEO. “With Vivacity’s Workforce Wellness products, small and medium sized companies now have a solution typically available only to large corporations with the financial resources and human capital to afford, understand, implement and manage a comprehensive wellness program.”

Vivacity’s Workforce Wellness suite provides a practical solution for those among roughly 6.6 million U.S. companies with 25 to 500 employees who are also worried about the rising costs of their healthcare and desire the health benefits a complete wellness program delivers. Comprehensive and easy to implement, Vivacity’s Workforce Wellness suite delivers the building blocks for a culture of health – assessment, intervention and analysis.

Two of Vivacity’s Workforce Wellness products include consulting by certified health educators and wellness advisors who work with clients to drive engagement and results. Consulting services typically are reserved for custom-designed and more expensive wellness programs.

Well designed workforce wellness programs that include professional consulting can have a significant impact on the bottom line. Research conducted in 2009 for a Vivacity client revealed that annual healthcare costs averaged $1,163 less for wellness program participants with normal readings on five standard biometric measures, compared to participants with measures outside the normal range.

“The bigger challenge is – can your program generate engagement?” said David Johnson, MD, President of Vivacity. “We’ve seen that on average, healthcare costs for engaged employees were 30 percent lower than those employees who elected not to participate in a workforce wellness program.”

“For the first time,” said Dr. Johnson, “we offer small, independent businesses an integrated approach to wellness that includes consultation by Vivacity’s wellness professionals. Based on our proprietary research and experience, Vivacity can help control rising healthcare costs by developing, supporting and sustaining a healthier workforce.”
